How to Wave Hair With Curlers

Hot curlers add volume and shine to hair while locking in curls and waves. Hot curler sets are generally either ceramic or foam. Ceramic sets consist of hard curlers that are heated through electricity. Foam curlers are placed in the hair and worn over night or heated by steam and worn in the hair until they cool. Either type will create waves. Wear hair in loose, beachy waves for a casual and flirty look or in tight waves for a polished and elegant look.

Instructions

    1

    Mist dry hair with flexible hold hair spray.

    Place each finger above each temple and trace backwards until they meet to separate the top half of hair from the bottom half.

    Secure the top half of hair with a clip.

    4

    Wrap a 2-inch section of hair around the curling iron while keeping the curling iron horizontal.

    Release hair after three seconds.

    Wrap the same section of hair around the hot curler while keeping the curler horizontal. Secure curler with a clip provided in the set.

    Repeat steps 4 through 6 until the entire bottom half of hair is in hot curlers.

    Release clip.

    Repeat steps 4 through 6 until the top half of hair is in hot curlers

    Wait for hot curlers to cool.

    Take out curlers. Start at the bottom of the hair, and work your way up.

    Rake fingers through hair. Start with fingers at roots and rake them straight down to the tips of the hair.

    Spray hair with flexible hold hair spray.

    Comb hair from root to tip using a wide-toothed comb.
