How to Scrunch Hair Without Gel & Mousse?

Some of the materials commonly used to create textured, wavy hairstyles are not always user-friendly. Many gels and mousses are sticky and have an unpleasant smell, often discouraging women from experimenting with the products. Fortunately, you do not need to use these products to scrunch your hair. No matter if you have straight or wavy hair, you can scrunch your hair without messy gel and mousse.

Instructions

Use a volumizing or curl-enhancing shampoo and conditioner. Do not use moisturizing products, as they will weigh down your hair and prevent effective scrunching. Towel dry your hair until it is damp.

Apply an anti-frizz spray to your hair.

Use both hands to scrunch your hair, starting from the ends and working up towards your scalp. Grasp a section of hair and rumple it with your hand, lifting it towards the roots.

Connect the diffuser attachment to your blow dryer. Position the diffuser so that the teeth grasp your hair.

Rotate the blow dryer so that the diffuser moves throughout your hair. Alternate rotating clockwise and counterclockwise until your hair is dry.

Follow Steps 1 and 2 from the previous section before going to bed.

Coat your hair with a light-holding spray.

Separate your hair into several sections. Braid each section and secure it with a hair elastic to prevent it from unraveling.

Sleep with your hair braided. Remove the braids when you wake up and gently comb your fingers through the waves two or three times.
