If you can't achieve length, weave it into your hair. Weave hair extensions give length and life to otherwise lackluster hair. With a weave ponytail your choices are limited but can still be attractive. With ponytails you can style buns, long or short styles and even play with volume. Don't get stuck in a hair rut, get creative. With a few tips you can style fun, innovative ponytail looks with your weave.

Preppy Curly Ponytail

    This look is ideal for every day or even a date in the evening. Take your properly installed weave ponytail and make sure that it is either clipped or sewn just under the crown. Spray the entire ponytail with a heat protectant spray. This is important, as it will protect the weave from burns. If you weave in non-human hair, you will have to pin curl it. Take a one-inch section of your ponytail and apply the iron to the tip; make sure the clamp is facing outward. You will curl the iron upwards and outwards (away from the face) until you reach the root. Hold for six seconds and then release. Repeat this process on the entire ponytail. Once the ponytail is curled, let it cool for five minutes and then finger comb. Finish with hairspray.

High Volume Ponytail

    Human hair will fare best with this style. Before you sew or clip in your weave ponytail, comb back the front four inches of your hair along the hairline. This is your high-volume front section.Spray a volumizing spray at the roots and fluff the section. Push the section forward to puff it up and then pin the puff in place using bobby pins. This will look awkward at first but will look better once the ponytail is in place. Sew or clip in your extension and spray it with the volumizing spray as well. Blow-dry the hair for one minute, and be careful not to tangle the weave. Finish the look with hairspray if desired.

The Weave Bun

    This style is standard for every day and even sports. Synthetic or human hair is acceptable for this style. Part clean dry hair to the side. Sew or clip in your weave ponytail and make sure it is secure. Twist the weave into a bun by holding the ends of the ponytail and twisting up. The hair will coil into a bun. Secure the bun with bobby pins so that it stays neat. Finish the look with hairspray, especially if your hair is prone to frizz.
