Bangs
Bangs are a great way to add sass to any long, blond style. Not only does it create a frame for your face, but it also adds interest to your style. There are a couple of different types of bangs that, depending on your face shape, will really flatter you. The first tip is to go to a stylist to cut your hair; cutting your own bangs will most likely end in disaster.
If you have straight, sleek blond hair, try a blunt cut with straight fringe that brushes the tops of your eyebrows. This is a fantastic look for any season, and it makes your eyes pop. Use a ceramic straightening iron for an even sleeker look. Adding heat to your hair can cause frizz and damage, so try using an anti-frizz serum or a thermal styling product before you dry your hair.
A side-swept bang is a good look for almost any face shape. The stylist will usually use a razor to create a softer edge that will give your face a very flattering shape. Side-swept bangs are usually best below or just at the top of the eyebrow so they can be pinned into a bouffant or with a cute clip anytime.
Short, choppy bangs are a terrific look if you have an edgier style. If you have a very high forehead, super short bangs may not be the best look for you; consult your stylist before taking any drastic steps. Choppy bangs are usually created with a razor for a more shattered appearance. Pairing extra long hair with choppy micro bangs is a really fun and unique look.
Color
The best part is about having blond hair is that it's like a blank canvas for color. Highlights are a subtle way to change the color of your hair without dying your whole head. You can also add depth with lowlights, which is when a darker color is added to your hair. A popular lowlight look is coloring the underside layer of your hair a deep golden brown or auburn while keeping the rest of your hair blond.
A good way to keep up with trends is by using semi-permanent dye. You can purchase semi-permanent hair dyes in any beauty supply store in a multitude of colors. Semi-permanent dye only lasts for about three weeks, which gives you the freedom to change your look every month. For a subtle hint of color, use a light auburn or light golden brown semi-permanent dye and apply it to your hair using a frosting cap. For an edgier look, apply a hot pink color to a chunk of hair in your bangs or dye the ends of your hair an electric purple for a tipped look.
Waves
Adding curl or waves to your long locks creates a classic, beautiful look that works for every season. You can create a sexy bohemian wave using a ceramic straightening iron or a triple barreled curling iron. Another option is getting a perm at a salon. I know what you're thinking; perms are from the 80's! However, there have been huge advances in perm technology that lets the stylist create waves or loose curls for that bohemian look.
