Long, layered hair can be styled a number of ways. You can take advantage of your hair's natural volume and create different, bold hairstyles. If you're putting your hair up, you may need some clips or bobby pins to secure stray layers.

Straight Hair

    Use a straightening iron across all of your layers and let them fall naturally over your shoulders. The choppy layers add some natural volume. Use volumizing products so your hair does not fall limply against your head, neck and shoulders.

    Use shine serum to brighten dull hair and make your hair color stand out.

    If you want a more natural look, brush your hair with a round brush as you blow-dry your hair.

Curly Hair

    With heavily layered hair, curl entire sections of hair or curl each individual layer. If you don't have naturally wavy or curly hair, secure the curls with hair spray.

    If you have naturally wavy or curly hair, scrunch your hair and use hair spray or a spray gel to maintain the curls.

Quick Styles

    If you only have a few minutes to style your hair, tie your hair back in a ponytail. Some of the layers may fall out of the ponytail, so secure the style with bobby pins or hair clips.

    If you want to change your look, consider cutting bangs to frame your face. Some salons may offer the service at a reduced cost.
