How to Put My Hair in Cute Preppy Braids ~ Hair Styling Tips

The preppy style is a clean-cut blend of cute and sophisticated styles. When it comes to preppy hair style classics, you can never go wrong with a clean high ponytail or two braids on each side of the head. And since most people have layers in their hair that can stick out of conventional braids, using French braids ensures that each piece of hair can get tucked in to create the sleek preppy look.

Instructions

Remove all tangles from your hair using a brush. Spray detangled hair with water in a plastic spray bottle and comb through.

Part your hair from the middle of your forehead to the middle of your neck and secure one section with a hair tie.

Brush or comb the free side of hair down and grab three half-inch sections at the very top of the head, near the crown. Pull the left section into the space between the other two sections, then do the same with the right section.

Pull a new section of hair along with the left section to the space. When you pull right section back towards the left, bring a new section of hair with it as well.

Continue until the braids run down the side of your head. When the hair sections are no longer directly attached to the head, secure with a hair tie.

Secure flyaways or bumpy pieces of hair against the head with a bobby pin so that the style appears sleek.

Repeat with the other section of hair. Mist the entire style down with some hairspray to set.
