A hair wrap is a safe and easy way to keep hair stylish without sacrificing the health or appearance of the hair. Hair wrapping is a setting technique that involves wrapping the hair tightly around the head to form a circle before drying it. Once the hair is dried, the wrap set is removed by combing it out. This setting method will eliminate the need for using heated hair appliances on a daily basis, which will increase the health of the hair. If properly executed, a wrapped hairstyle can remain fresh for up to two weeks. This hairstyle is extremely popular in the African-American community.

Instructions

    1

Wash and condition the hair as you normally would.

    2

Use a clean towel to blot the hair to remove any excess water.

    3

Apply a small amount of leave-in hair conditioner to the hair.

    4

Apply a medium amount of foam wrap lotion to the hair.

    5

Use a wide-toothed comb to comb the foam wrap lotion through hair thoroughly.

    6

Use a rat-tail comb to part the hair into four sections

    7

Comb each section down and around the head in a circular clockwise motion. It is best to use the wide-toothed comb for this step to prevent breakage.

    8

Continue to comb the hair around the head until the hair is smoothly wrapped around the head in a small circle or hive shape

    9

Secure hair in the hive shape with five or six large hair clips if necessary.

    10

Set a hooded hair dryer to a medium setting and sit under the dryer until the hair is completely dry.

    11

Allow the wrapped hair to cool down for a few minutes after moving from underneath the hair dryer.

    12

Drip several drops of hair shine serum into your hands and rub the serum into your wrapped hair.

    13

Use the wide-toothed comb to remove the wrap from the hair by combing it in a clockwise direction.

    14

Spray the hair lightly with hair sheen spray.
