Shaggy Haircuts for Men ~ Hair Styling Tips

Popular during the 1960s and 1970s, shaggy haircuts for men have made a comeback in recent years. This hairstyle works best on those with thin, straight hair, as it is difficult to make your hair appear messy if it has a natural curl to it. The variety of ways to wear your hair shaggy includes three basic cuts.

Not as common since it requires a little more maintenance, short shaggy hair is for the guy who still wants to look a little bit refined while also showing off his modern edge. This haircut is usually cut short around the ears, but is grown out on the top. Your hairstylist will cut the top part of your hair into long layers that can be parted or worn straight. Many men with this haircut also like to add a little bit of gel to their hair to keep it under control.

Some men wear this haircut with side-swept bangs, while others often wear it without. For this hairstyle, ask your stylist to cut your hair into long layers that cover your ears. You will part it to one side or the other, combing your hand through it to make it look just right. With longer hair, wash it at least four times per week and condition it each time. If you use any product after your hair dries, make it a very light gel that keeps the hair in place.
