Japanese Hair Bun Tutorial

A Japanese hair bun is a large bun placed at the top of the head. Some people try to recreate the hairstyle by using a hairpiece. It is possible to replicate a Japanese hair bun using your natural hair. The style works best with hair that is long and all the same layer.

Instructions

    1

    Pull your hair into a high ponytail, and secure it with a hair band.

    Secure any loose pieces on the underside of your hair with bobby pins.

    3

    Spread your hair out so the hole in the center of the ponytail is exposed.

    Spray the spread out hair with hair spray.

    5

    Backcomb your ponytail to tease it up. Start by combing at the ends of the ponytail toward the base of the ponytail.

    6

    Wrap the ends of the ponytail around the base of the ponytail to form a bun.

    7

    Secure the bun with bobby pins.

    8

    Spray the bun with hairspray.
