Scrunching your hair offers the best of both worlds, working with curly and straight hair types. The process can be done in a pinch for beach-ready waves. Make sure you have the right products and preparation to make your scrunch hairstyle look great and last long.
Preparation
Prepping your hair will make the difference between a hairstyle that lasts through a day at the office and a night on the town and one that falls flat around noon. When in the shower, wash with shampoo only, leaving out the conditioner. Conditioner can weigh down any natural wave or curl, making it harder to scrunch. A diffuser diffuses the wind force from the hair dryer, so that you get more heat and less frizz. Gently cup your hair in the diffuser while heating to get your hair warm enough to be pliable.
