When you have naturally wavy hair, the idea of making it curlier can seem daunting. Since the hair is wavy to begin with, it seems logical that simply curling it would create the desired effect. Unfortunately, this only causes the style appear sloppy because the curled pieces of hair stand out much more than you'd think against the waves. There is a technique you can use to create a much curlier style with your naturally wavy hair.
Instructions

Apply a golf ball sized amount of mousse into damp hair, adjusting the amount as needed to cater to your specific hair length and thickness.
2Blow dry the hair straight using a paddle brush, pointing the nozzle down the hair shaft to cause minimal damage. While you blow dry, preheat a curling iron in the size of your choice.
3Grab a one-inch section of hair and wrap it around the hot curling iron. Hold for five to 10 seconds, release, and secure the curl on the top of the head with a hair clip. Repeat until you have curled the entire head.
4Remove all hair clips and allow the curls to fall down. Wet your hands and shake them just until the excess dripping stops. Run your hands through your hair from the bottom of your skull over to the top. The water will slightly dampen the styled hair and allow your natural waves to appear and mix in evenly with the curls.
5Spray the entire style with some flexible-hold hairspray and shake your hair out with dry hands.
