Electric curlers, also called hot rollers, are a quick and convenient method for styling medium to long hair. Hot curlers volumize hair by infusing moisture and heat into the individual strands without the risk of burns and potential damage from a curling iron. Hot curlers bring the added benefit of mobility. Hairspray and heat-protective serum are necessary tools when styling your hair with electric curlers to hold in volume and protect against damaging heat.

Wash and dry your hair. Comb the heat protective serum into your hair with a wide-toothed comb.
2Plug your electric curlers into the wall and turn the base on. Wait for the light indicating temperature to turn off. Separate hair into three sections, one to the left, one to the right and one on the top.
3Gather a small amount of hair from the top-front section, about an inch across, and wrap it around a hot curler. Roll close to the scalp. Use the butterfly clip to secure the curler in place. Take another small section of hair from the middle section and repeat.
4Finish the middle section. Begin work on the left or right section. Repeat the same process until all hair is rolled into curlers. Spray with hairspray. Let them set for 20 to 30 minutes.
5Unroll cooled curlers gently from hair. Use the brush to soften curls until you've achieved your desired look. Set with hairspray.
